I don't know about how acquainted with the 2D Zelda games the rest of y'all are, but I found having myself having at least picked up every 3D Zelda title, but barely grazing the surface of the 2D Titles. We should do a community play through of each 2D game, with milestones weekly to reach and discuss as a group what we liked/disliked about each part.

I'd love to! I just started Link to the Past, but I've played the original Legend of Zelda and Link's awakening, both of which I loved! It'd be a great way to determine what we're aiming for.

Sure. Also it might be fun to do a stream of it with a chatroom on say... Twitch.tv or something. So we can all analyze the game and find design techniques they use.

Think we should start in order by timeline or release date?

I'd say release date.

I agree, that would let us watch Nintendo invent new gameplay dynamics and we could soak it in as the quality just gets better and better.

I'd love to do this. Let me know how, and when we're gonna do all this.
