Hey everyone. A crowdsourced Zelda game is a really cool idea.
This board is pretty cool and all, but shouldn't we maybe stay at Reddit? You were right, a single comment thread wasn't really a good place to manage this, but I and a friend of me I was talking to agreed that it would probably easier for everyone if we all stayed at reddit.
A subreddit would be a really good place to manage all this, if we make use of the features reddit offers (especially the subreddit wiki would be a really good tool for coordinating things).
There are a few more advantages:
1. Easier accessibility. I assume most if not all of us are redditors. We already have a reddit account and are familiar with how it works. We generally check reddit every few days, so we will see if a new post pops up in the subreddit (for small subreddits even a few upvotes bring a post to the subscribers frontpage)
2. Maybe more new users over time. If we stay here, in a few days nobody new will join here since this page will be buried deep within the internet. On reddit, people are more likely to link to a subreddit instead of an external homepage in their comments and sidebars.
3. Pretty much a personal thing, but I won't be checking this board anymore in a week. Don't get me wrong, I like this project, and I don't have a problem with this board itself, but I just know that I won't bring myself to check the board frequently after the starting motivation is gone. Even if I wanted, I know I will just forget about it, or be too lazy, or anything. This happened far too often to me... And maybe I'm not alone with that.
Only disadvantage would be that somebody would have to set things up. Create a sidebar with the most basic information, set up a structure for the wiki, tweak the CSS to support thread-tags (like you would be able to tag a thread as "Programming", "Art" etc and it would get it's own icon/color).
