Hi, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Joe. I also post as Hero_Of_Sandwich on the Zelda subreddit on a fairly regular basis. Although I have no background in programming, I have extensive background in world creation for forum based text games and PC games. I also have significant knowledge of both real world natural and human geography. This not only means that I have extensive practice making maps, but that I also have good understanding of how to make a setting feel "natural" and realistic as well.
Anyways, I'm not sure exactly what you want here, but if you would like any assistance in designing the layout of the world so that it is both functional and natural feeling, I would be happy to help in any way I can. If you guys would like to discuss what you want to see in a world, I would be happy to draw up some sketches to try and tie some ideas together.

I decided to do a rough sketch of what a "Greater Hyrule" might look like. Mind you, this is just a sketch. Heck, I'm even fine if the game isn't set in Hyrule at all. If you look closely, you can see that I basically used the geography of Twilight Princess (on Gamecube) as a base.

very good! put a grid over it and that could be the map the programmers use to make the game's map

I'm glad you like it, but I can honestly do something much better and far more detailed than that if it's desired. That was more meant to be a rough draft of what a greater Hyrule might look like, if that's even what you want in the game. Are we even sure we want the game in Hyrule instead of an entirely new location? Before anything greater, I will wait for some plot line developments. In the mean time, I'm happy to contribute my input.

This is really cool, and I have a feeling you're the exact person we need! I can do a lot of the actual layout of the areas, but a big picture map is a little beyond my expertise. I'm sure your help will prove very valuable on this project. And I agree that we need to wait for the plot to be decided before we do any work in big time layout. Thanks for joining!
