I like the armor progression in the first game. It makes you feel so much more powerful when you get a new ring. I'd like to see something similiar in this game, but it shouldn't be entirely a focus in the story, just basically a "level up!" kind of achievement. Here is an idea of what it could look like. On the far left we have the original tunic, and then after that we have the first addition (could be as simple as the Pegasus boots!) Which would make link taller and give him chainmail leggings. Finally, Link could get a pure white tunic that has been "blessed by the goddess" shortly before the final battle. Every time Link "levels" his attacks will be more powerful and he'll take less damage from enemies, thereby making extremely powerful enemies easy to face, and common enemies less of a nuisance.

There could be different amours with different drawbacks, for example there could be one with a helmet that guards you from alot of attacks, but slows you down significantly, while there could also be one where you lose the shirt and hat and can run around real fast.

I like the helmet idea, but that seems like more of an item than an upgrade. We should try and keep the game basic-ish, so we don't have too huge of a task on our hands.
